In the early nineties, the sculptor and his wife Marketta, who is an architect, designed and built a studio on Kettuniemi, a peninsula overlooking Puulavesi, which is the eigth largest lake in Finland. The large studio window gives a wide view over the lake and its numerous islands to the north of the southern shores of Hirvensalmi.

Away from the urban environment of Helsinki, the sculptor recharges his body and mind in his wilderness studio.
